Message from the PTSA President
ear CMM Families:
Welcome back to our returning families! To our new families, welcome to the CMMunity! I hope you all enjoyed the fun-filled summer days, and hopefully this school year will be more traditional with the return of many of the aspects that make our school great. My name is Arissa Green, and I am your PTSA President for the 2021-2022 school year. This is my 4th year as a parent at CMM, and I could not ask for a better middle school experience for my children. CMM has a special community feel that is driven by the dedicated teachers, staff, and parents that believe in the value of education and all the volunteers that help organize PTSA events. With your support, we can continue to make CMM a school of excellence. CMM is a community based on parent involvement. Your contribution, whether it is your time, knowledge, or resources makes a difference.
We invite you to become an involved PTSA member. Thank you for helping in any way you can and showing your children the importance you place on their education.
A strong PTSA represents parent involvement and parent involvement represents student success.
CMM PTSA Membership Drive is under way! I encourage everyone to renew or start a new membership for only $10 per person. The form is available under PTSA forms or you are welcome to sign up on Caddo Parish website local level. The PTA welcomes the participation of parents, grandparents, and guardians – all of the wonderful people who care for and about CMM students. I would personally like to invite you to attend PTSA meetings held the second Monday of every month at noon via ZOOM. Attendance give you a voice on how your fundraising dollars are spent and first-hand information from the principal, Mrs. DeBusk. CMM PTSA offers the following events to name a few – Colonial Days, Renaissance Faire, Book Fairs, 8th Grade Celebration, Teacher Appreciation and Honors Assemblies. I am grateful for the many volunteers who offer their time to make CMM PTSA run smoothly.
We look forward to getting to know your family. Due to the pandemic, it is still a fluid situation on whether we will be able to have events such as Back to School Night. However, we still encourage everyone to join the PTSA and sign up for the weekly email PTSA blast to stay up to date on how you can support our students and our school.
On behalf of the PTA Executive Board and all the volunteers, I wish everyone a very productive year ahead and look forward to your continued support. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at arissacjenkins@gmail.com or 318.426.1420. Please know that questions and suggestions are always welcome!
Looking forward to a great year!
Best regards,
Arissa J Green
