                                                                                                                                                  Oct 3 - ambient  -  adjective 1. of the surrounding area or environment: The tape recorder picked up too many ambient noises. The temperature in the display case was 20° lower than the ambient temperature. 2. completely surrounding; encompassing: the ambient air. 3. creating a certain reaction or mood, often a subconscious one, by being wherever people tend to be: ambient advertising on a shopping cart. 4. pertaining to or noting sounds that create a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. 5. pertaining to or noting close and constant social contact and communication fostered by the Internet or the use of digital devices: social-networking sites that enable ambient intimacy and awareness.

To rise or roll in or like a great wave; surge. 2. To swell out, puff up, etc., as by the action of wind. 3. To make rise, surge, swell.  noun: 1. A great wave or surge of the sea. 2. Any surging mass.

(of a tonality or key) having the same tonic but differing in mode. noun 7. a parallel line or plane. 8. anything parallel or comparable in direction, course, nature, or tendency to something else. 9. Also called parallel of latitude. Geography . a. an imaginary circle on the earth's surface formed by the intersection of a plane parallel to the plane of the equator, bearing east and west and designated in degrees of latitude north or south of the equator along the arc of any meridian. b. the line representing this circle on a chart or map. 10. something identical or similar in essential respects; match; counterpart: a case history without a known parallel. 11. correspondence or analogy: These two cases have some parallel with each other.
